Australian Grand Prix Bets

Formula 1 came to Australia in 1985 where it set up home in Adelaide. It remained the venue until 1997 when Melbourne took over the baton and it remains the host city to the first Formula 1 of the season to the present day. This years race is upon this weekend and is the second race of the season following Fernando Alonso's win on Bahrain a couple of weeks ago. Alonso will be well fancied in Australia once again as will his main rivals in Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton. Sebastien Vettel for Red Bull is another who is looking dangerous after a good start to the season and looks to be driving a top car.

The race has also been moved to 5pm local time to ensure that the viewing population has the best possible chance to see the race. Formula 1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone had wanted a night race in Melbourne to enhance world-wide viewing figures but this was opposed in Australia so a compromise was made to move the race to late afternoon.
